More Scholarships and Fun for the Month of April!

Hey Fans!

I just took my son to see Mrs. Piggle Wiggle at the MATCH (Theater) downtown and it was a blast! I love how they begin all of their shows with an greeting to the audience from the characters. It makes the children feel like they are really a part of the show.

Remember if you feel like your little ones (3 and up) are not quite ready for the theater, MATCH offers half price shows that are sensory friendly. This means that the lights are up, the sound is not as high and sensory toys are welcomed in the theater for the kiddos.

The great thing about the Theater is that they have a summer program and scholarship for students ages 4 and up. Check out their website below:

http://www.mainstreettheater.com/ed/summer.html   The info for the need based scholarship is in the first paragraph.

I also just found out that Girls Inc of Houston offers scholarships for their Camp Smart that starts in June and is held at the Health Museum downtown!

Girls Inc was a huge presence at the first school I ever taught in. They offer girls educational and emotional support programs at the age they need it most. If you think your daughter would love it check out their website!

My favorite place in the world is hosting a book festival for kids on May 5th, featuring a Writer's Contest for young writers. Check out your neighborhood library for more information!

Last but not scholarship related is the McDonald's Children's Festival that is happening next weekend! This a great event for kids 12 and under with food, photo ops with Disney and Nickelodeon characters and giveaways. My advice, is to go early-- it will get crowded. Check out Groupon for discounted tickets!

This was a short post, but Ill share a lengthier one with you around the middle of April!
Happy Easter and see you in a few weeks!
